Yes, you have to pass all subjects in order to pass your CBSE 12th board. According to CBSE guidelines, you have to obtain a grade higher than E or an equivalent score of 33 percent to be declared as having passed the examination. If you have taken any elective subject, you have to score a minimum of 33% (or grade E) to pass your board exams. Your aggregate score in all subjects, whether compulsory or elective, must be greater than 40%.
