    With reference to your question, if you just want to appear in JEE Mains and get a good score to get admission in good colleges other than IITs, NITs and IIITs, then you can appear in JEE Mains exam if you have cleared 12th class.
    But for getting admission in any IITs, NITs and IIITs, you have to score at least 75% in 12th.

    No. There are two options
    1. 75% (general); 65% (ST/SC)
    2. To get in the top 20 percentile of your board.
  • Hello Himanshu,
    Yes, it is compulsory to have atleast 75% in your 12 th board exam to get a seat under JEE counselling. Even, if you qualify JEE main and advanced you cannot get admission if you don't have 75% in board exams.
