Is it true that the IIM looks for a diversified profile? Which degree should I go for in graduation?

    IIMs offer MBA program which involves a lot of peer to peer learning and it prepares students to enter into the corporate or business world. Diversity is considered important today in corporates as well feeding into the diversity agenda of IIMs apart from their own objective of having diverse students to foster a good learning environment. IIMs do consider academic diversity as a factor for shortlisting and further selection. This is considering that the CAT score and past academic score in class 10th, 12th and graduation are comparable to other candidates who have a background in engineering which is the most prevalent graduate degree

    Yes, it's true. If want to get into IIMs you can do any degree but should be prepared for CAT exam.
    Indian Institute of Management is of one the best B-schools in the world. Some of the major difference you can see when we compare IIMs and B-Schools are:

    It is true that IIMs give some points for diversity point during admission.
    The thing is that most of the students applying and getting admitted to IIMs are engineers, so to improve the diversity of diversity in classes and campuses IIMs give diversity some weightage.
    But it doesn't mean you should choose a degree depending upon that. Even though there are diversity points for non-engineers, still high percent of students admitted are engineers. So if you are interested in engineering then go for it.
