It is strongly advised to avoid dropping a year because CLAT does not require a whole year of preparation, especially a drop year. This trend applies to IIT JEE, NEET or UPSC exa.

    Hi!
its totally depends upon your interest if you want to make career in Law and want to work in corporate sector then please go for CLAT and if you will get top 5 National Law University then its good for you because you easily get Corporate job further if you want to make career in Litigation as well as in Judiciary then join any local college and make your career starting going into Lawyers chamber and gain practical experience of court room which is no one is going to teach you in Law School. So if you already made your mind set for corporate law then only go for NLU otherwise its not worth it. All the best :). .

Dear aspirant, Great interacting with you. Reasons why dropping a year is not advised:
It is strongly advised to avoid dropping a year because CLAT does not require a whole year of preparation, especially a drop year. This trend applies to IIT JEE, NEET or UPSC examinations (which may not be completely justified either). Majority of people who crack CLAT do so in less than 4 months of preparation. The reason behind it is that this exam does not test your ability to retain knowledge but to apply it to practical situations. Except for general knowledge no other part of the paper needs you to mug things up. This paper is analytical in natu

In my personal opinion, it does not make sense to drop a year for CLAT to just prepare. If you are so interested, prepare well in the first go itself during the summer break post exams.

Well, it depends on how you utilize the year. If you plan out well and work on it and make it to a top National Law University, then it's worth it, and in case you get into any bottom NLU even that's good enough. But joining any other university after having dropped a year, won't be a lot fruitful in my opinion.
    Good luck!

If you are firm, only then try thinking about it for its very hard to keep up the determination and level of devotion throughout an year. However, it shall serve you a lot.

For law, CLAT is the best option, and if you are dropping a year, then there is no doubt. It is worth it, because once you get admission in any NLU, then it is more than you have done in one year.

Well, do not think of dropping a year for preparation, it is easy you can prepare side to side, though if you drop to get into Tier 1 NLU, then it is worth. If you fail to qualify the exam, just take admission into DU and then go for a 3-year law, it will take the same time.
