Is it worth to pursue a certificate in audio-video editing from distance learning in India and why?

The answer is a big no. Audio-video editing requires a candidate to not only learn the intricacies of the software, but also learn minor things like how to dump an audio/video file from the camera/any other recording equipment to the computer. This isn't something one can mug up from text books or internet because it requires the concerned person to learn the skills over time and enhance them for the better under able guidance of the teachers who can help in sorting of the pros and cons one needs to take care of during editing. Also, an audio/video editor should also have a better insight into how can one record/shoot a certain audio/video in a way that least editing is required on the system. Without practical experience at the editing desk, this will be a task which will be very difficult to complete. And this holds true for India as well as abroad.

Audio and video editing are two different domains in terms of distance mode. I shall not object strongly on the audio editing course through distance mode but I shall be putting my foot down when it comes to videography. Videography is meant to be something with the camera and is not advised done through distance mode. The above things cannot be imparted through distance mode and that is why it is not advised to have a course in acting or even anchoring through distance mode. These areas of expertise are not theory subjects and can never be made a theory based alone. The students need exposure and real-time experience.
