    LPU is a full-fledged university, Not a deemed University. LPU is UGC recognised and does not require AICTE approval since it is already approved by UGC, a statutory body of the Government of India. LPU has been ranked by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 on 23rd place amongst Top Universities in India (Both Government & Private)

    Lovely Professional University (LPU) was created under the Punjab State Private University ACT 2005. LPU is recognised by University Grants Commission (UGC), under section 2 (f) of the UGC ACT 1956. As per Honorable Supreme Court ruling, AICTE approval is required for a university to run a course in technical education. Now the answer to your question, At present, LPU is not a deemed university, but is recognised by UGC of the government, DEEMED UNIVERSITY tagline comes for a university with long successful running.
