Is LPU accredited by UGC-NAAC?

There are various accreditation earned by LPU. Lovely Professional University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India, a statutory body of the Government of India for the coordination, determination and maintenance of standards of university education in India, under section 2 (f) of the UGC Act, 1956. Lovely Professional University is a member of Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the national level body of universities in the country promoting university activities especially by way of sharing information and co-operation in the field of education, culture, sports and allied areas and recognised to grant equivalency of degrees awarded by foreign universities. Lovely Professional University is recognised by the University Grants Commission - Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB), entrusted with the regulatory work of open and distance learning mode of education in the higher education system. Teacher education programmes B.Ed. , M. Ed. , B.Ed. - M. Ed. (Integrated), B.A. B.Ed/B.sc. B.Ed. ; and Physical Education programmes B. P. Ed. and M. P. Ed. are recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), a statutory body of the Government of India for teacher education system. B.Arch and M.Arch (Executive) programmes are approved by Council of Architecture (COA), a statutory body of the Government of India for the regulation of the architectural education and practice of profession and for maintaining the register of architects. B. Pharmacy and M. Pharmacy programmes are approved by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), a statutory body of the Government of India for the regulation of the Pharmacy Education for the purpose of registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act and for regulation of Profession and Practice of Pharmacy. B.Sc. (Hons. ) Agriculture, M.Sc. Ag. (Genetics & Plant Breeding), M.Sc. Ag. (Agronomy) and M.Sc. Ag. Horticulture (Fruit Science) programmes are accredited to ICAR by the National Agricultural Education Board of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, an autonomous body responsible for co-ordinating agricultural education and research in India. It reports to the Department of Agricultural Research and Education, Ministry of Agriculture.3 years LL.B programme and 5 years integrated B.A. LL.B (Hons. ), B.Com. LL.B (Hons. ), BBA LL.B (Hons. ) programmes are recognised by Bar Council of India (BCI). It is also approved by ITPI and IOEF

Being an LPU alumni as well as an existing student over there I would like to answer your query. As per my knowledge, LPU is recognized by University Grant Commission (UGC). And also LPU has applied for NAAC approval. LPU is already recognized by UGC. UGC is University Grants Commission whereas NAAC is the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. UGC approves a College or University whereas NAAC accredits the programs offered in the University or institute. NAAC is an accreditation body, which comes under the University Grants Commission of India. So, apparently, a college does not compulsorily require NAAC accreditation and it solely depends on the college or university whether to apply for it or not. However, despite being accredited by so many rankings and accreditation in just a couple of years of its establishment, LPU is on its way to achieving NAAC accreditation too has already passed all the parameters required for NAAC and will soon acquire it too.

LPU is UGC accredited. Though both UGC and NAAC are similar organization and comes under HRD ministry, Government of India. Till now, LPU is not NAAC accredited as it is not necessary if you are already a UGC member. Though it raises university reputation and also LPU passes all the parameters for being an NAAC accreditation and soon will be part of it .
