No, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) approval is not required for a university to run a technical education course. The Supreme Court ruled in 1999 that AICTE approval is not mandatory for universities to run technical education courses. However, institutions must still maintain AICTE norms while conducting technical programs.

No, AICTE approval is not required for students to attend LPU, even though some specific courses might benefit from it. Here's why:

    • LPU is a recognised university under UGC, which approves universities as a whole, not specific courses.
    • AICTE approval primarily applies to technical institutions and programs. Since LPU is a full-fledged university offering diverse programs beyond purely technical fields, it falls under UGC's purview.
    • However, certain technical programs within LPU may seek additional AICTE approval for enhanced recognition and specific benefits like scholarships or government funding. Check with LPU directly if you

Yes, Lovely Professional University (LPU) is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for its B.Tech programs. However, as a UGC-recognized university, LPU does not require separate AICTE approval for its courses, as per the rules governing universities in India. Yes, Lovely Professional University (LPU) is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) for its B.Tech programs. While LPU is primarily a university recognised under the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act of 1956, universities in India, including private ones like LPU, do not require separate AICTE approval for their programs if they are operating under the UGC's regulations. However, LPU voluntarily adheres to the guidelines set by AICTE to maintain quality and standards in its technical education programs, ensuring that its curriculum, infrastructure, and teaching methodologies align with AICTE norms.

Hi Mahesh, according to Supreme Court, AICTE approval is required only when the course is being run by an institute. However, LPU is a full fledged UGC recognised university, hence the AICTE approval is not required. The B.Tech CSE programme is the most popular programme at LPU and the students vie to take admission in this programme. The students who have passed out are employed with big multinationals of international repute. Recently, an LPU student Tanya Arora got placed in Microsoft with 42 LPA this year. LPUs Vertos from B.Tech. CSE (Hons. ), Batch of 2021, S Vishnu Vardhan Reddy and Aalap Singh Rawat kickstarted their profession

    Hello,
AICTE is a body which regulates the AFFILIATED colleges who are under the affiliation of various universities but not the universities themselves. Coming to Jobs overseas:
First of all if you are seeking a job in India then you must be aware of the fact that more than 650 companies visit the campus and hire thousands of students through over 900 placement drives. A huge number of former students work in government sector in India as well as many other countries. So there is no problem of any job after graduating from LPU. I hope this will help you.

    Hello,
Lovely Professional University does not require an AICTE approval since it is already approved by UGC, a statutory body of the Government of India. In a major blow to AICTE, Supreme Court has ruled that an AICTE approval is not required for private colleges running University. LPU does not require AICTE approval. Lovely Professional University is a university in itself and it is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a statutory body of the Government of India. AICTE approval is not required for a university to run a course in technical education as has been held by the Hon'ble Supreme Court in its judgment CWP2056
