Is LPU good for civil engineering?

The Civil Engineering is a programme which articulates the concepts from basic Science to technology through lab practice and projects to gain knowledge in areas like Structural, Environmental & Highway Engineering, Construction Management etc. Which are in sync with industry requirements. Civil Engineering is one of the most popular courses in LPU and to motivate and encourage the students of civil engineering, LPU is organizing a National Conference on Technical Advancements in Civil Engineering (NCTACE 2016). This conference is being organized in collaboration with MS Simplex Infrastructures Limited, UltraTech Cement and Institution of Civil Engineers (UK) and the motive of this conference is to bring together the scientists, researchers, academicians, industrialists and students so that they can have valuable discussions and debates related to the field of Civil Engineering. Moreover, this conference would serve as a platform through which the civil engineering students can get in touch with various companies and industrialists and this would help in broadening their job prospects. After considering all the aspects it can be said that Civil Engineering is certainly a lucrative career option as the future of this particular field of engineering is really bright. Hello Aparna, I have done engineering from LPU and I have a lot of friends from the civil branch and they all are placed in good sectors with great packages. Students are placed in companies like Cleanmax Solar, Al Rakha (UAE), Dharam Consulting, Era Infra Engineering Ltd. , KEC International, Simplex, WSP India, XL Dynamics, CVENT, Rishishwar Construction, Premier Developers and Contractors, etc. In Civil Engineering LPU emphasizes the evolution of manmade infrastructure as LPU understands how they have evolved to the present scenario. With the advancement of technology in leaps and bounds, the future of civil engineering in the years to come will be crucial, especially with the establishment of smart cities. LPU is nurturing our students to adapt and be equipped with this ever-changing scenario. To cater to these needs the department is structured into five vibrant centers of studies: Structural. Hydraulics. Environment. Geotechnica. Transportation. As per my friend's experiences, those are graduated in civil from LPU. LPU is Imparting knowledge through site visits, case studies, real-time designs of structures. It has well-equipped lab facilities like concrete testing, cement testing, soil testing, surveying, highway material testing, and structural mechanics. They are Teaching through PPTs, videos, images, and animations. One needs an aggregate 60 percent with PCM in class 12.
