<p>Lovely Professional University (LPU) is considered a good choice to pursue Mechanical Engineering. B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics) ranked 50th by NIRF, 2024, has a very solid national positioning. The teachings are held in a very well-structured manner, emphasizing industry relevance, experienced faculty (many having PhDs and from IIT backgrounds), and infrastructure facilities (good labs and so on). LPU has the highest sort of placement record, with around 95% of students getting placed in mechanical engineering jobs with average salaries of approximately INR 7 Lacs per annum and the highest being more than 60 lakh. The LPU offers a B Tech in Mechanical Engineering which seamlessly articulates the concepts from basic Science to technology with relevant practice through lab and projects for building the problem-solving skills, keeping industry requirements in place for Design, Manufacturing, Thermal, etc. Specialisation. The Eligibility Criteria is (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics Mathematics, Chemistry and English or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. (5% relaxation to North-East states and Sikkim candidates/ Defence Personnel and their Dependents/ Wards of Kashmir Migrants) The course aims at enabling the student to Effectively build and communicate the solutions using learnings from basic mechanical engineering, basic sciences, mathematics, and computational skills and tools. He should have the ability to design using Design of Machine Elements theories and to create prototypes using relevant manufacturing technology. He should acquire the Capability of building efficient energy conversion systems using a basic understanding of Thermodynamics Heat transfer, and Fluid Mechanics. He should demonstrate the ability to propose cost-effective optimised solutions using simulated environments of Computer-aided design, computer-aided manufacturing, and computer-aided engineering. The highest salary package offered to mechanical branch students is 31 LPA, while the average salary is 4.8 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Bosch, ONGC, Ashok Leyland, Hitachi, etc.

Hi Mayur, The future scope of mechanical engineering and its demand in the industry seem quite promising. Mechanical engineering is considered to be the evergreen branch of engineering that deals with concepts like kinematics, structural analysis mechanics, thermodynamics, robotics, fluid mechanics with their applications in Automotive Sector, Power Sector, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Sector, Aerospace. Not in Private sectors but you can gve a try in Governmental organisation also. You can also serve the nation by wearing an uniform for the defence services. As mechanical engineer you can join EME or Corps of Engineers as per your merit in IMA or OTA. Second way is to go through CDS Examination conducted by UPSC every year. Here you can go for short service or permanent commissioning based on your merit. Third is to join Territorial Army on temporary basis. To become enough capable to do all these things you really need an Institution who is equally efficient to build you in a manner that you must become a dream catcher and construct your own prospective career. Name coming on my mind is Lovely professional University. You can refer the recent nIRF rankings released by Ministry of Education. You can refer the rankings and considerations of Associated chamber of commerce and Industry of India where they said that LPU is one of the most employable University in India. Mechanical engineering is the discipline that applies engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials Science principles to design, analyze, manufacture, and maintain mechanical systems. It is the branch of engineering that involves the design, production, and operation of machinery. The Mechanical Engineering department had the most ideal study environment since I have two friends from that stream and they both got placed in Hyundai India Motor Ltd. As far as Mechanical engineering is concerned, I can tell you this course carries extra baggage and it is very fruitful if you choose LPU as a medium. I would like to share their experiences:- A Mechanical Engineering student goes through an experiential learning process surrounded by high-end the latest labs and equipment including robotics and automation. International tech-fests and competitions encourage all-round development in students in addition to giving them international exposure. LPU alumni are working in top MNCs across the globe like Voltas International, Honda Two Wheelers, Asahi India Glass Ltd. , Indo Farm Tractors Ltd. etc. LPU Students have been offered International locations like Dubai and Oman by Voltas. PEP classes start right away from the first semester itself in form of Communication Skills and continue till the final semester covering: Analytical Skills (Logic Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning) Quantitative Aptitude Skills Technical Aptitude Skills Presentations and Soft Skills Mock Exercises (Mock Interviews, GDs, Mock Tests, etc. ).
