    Mechanical engineering is the study, design, development, construction, and testing of mechanical and thermal sensors and devices, including tools, engines, and machines.     Yes, of course LPU is a good choice for Mechanical Engineering. The eligibility criteria includes Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with Physics Mathematics and English or equivalent, subject to qualifying LPU NEST. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. No, the GATE registrations for IIT Patna 2026 MSc admissions are no longer open. The GATE registrations were closed in the month of November 2025. The GATE is scheduled to take place in the month of February 2026. Candidates who failed to register for the GATE are required to wait for the GATE 2027 registrations to open for IIT Patna MSc admissions.

The GATE Exam 2026 fellowship at Chandigarh University is credited on a monthly basis during the eligible fellowship months. The fellowship is paid for 8 months in a year, covering August to November and January to April. Students receive the Rs 12,500 amount each month, subject to fulfilling teaching duties and maintaining satisfactory academic performance. The payment is not made semester-wise or as a lump sum. Students who are not appearing for GATE 2026 will not receive this fellowship but can continue their M.E. programme without any difference in academic structure or evaluation.
