Yes, Mathematics at 12th is mandatory for Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme at IISc Bangalore. The eligibility criteria is given below:
ELIGIBILITY: Candidates who have completed their II PUC / 12th Standard in 2019 and those who are expecting to complete their II PUC / 12th Standard in 2020

Why should maths be a mandetory subject . If person has scored good rank below 50 in KVPy then that person should be proficient in physics and basic calculations and maths anyway is there up to 10 board. They should give clause in KVPy initially only that if u don't have maths u r not eligible for
