     According to the Engineering NIRF report 2024 released by NIT Silchar, the median package offered during BTech and MTech placements 2023 stood at INR 13.95 LPA and INR 6 LPA, respectively. A total of 123 students were placed out of 140 eligible students during BTech Mechanical placements 2023. Further, the placement rate recorded during MTech ME (CAD-CAM & Automation) placements in 2023 was 100%. Further, a total of 52 companies visited the campus and the highest package offered during M.Tech ME placements 2023

    NIT Silchar is known for its excellent placements, with a high percentage of students getting placed in reputed companies. The college boasts a 100% placement record for CSE, with companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Byju's, and many more visiting the campus. The average package is around INR 14-15 LPA, with the highest package reaching up to INR 80 LPA. Students become eligible for placements from the 6th or 7th semester onwards, and the placement percentage is consistently high, ranging from 89% to over 90%. Overall, NIT Silchar is considered good for placements based on the reviews and statistics provided across different sources

NIT Silchar 2025 cutoff for MSc has been released for admissions to various categories. For the General AI category, the cutoff ranged from 1111 to 1679, wherein M.Sc. in Mathematics was the most popular and therefore, the most competitive. For the OBC AI category, the MSc cutoff 2025 ranged from 1251 to 3775, wherein the same course was also the most competitive.
