Is there any variation in the salary packages of male and female cabin crew members on Indian or international carriers?

In India, salary packages are comparable in almost all the airlines. The regulations decided by DGCA play a dominant role in deciding their working hours and duties. There is no discrimination in salary packages based on gender. The salary differs only on the basis of seniority and fleet in India. On the other hand, when we look at the remuneration paid by foreign airliners are based on their reputation in the market and obviously on which country do they come from. Indian carriers are way back in pay scales when you compare it with foreign airliners. Pay for cabin crew also depends on the section of aircraft that they look after. Those working for First Class and Business Class differ from those who operate in Economy class. British Carriers and American Carriers pay differently when you compare it with those who operate from Dubai or Saudi. Their working conditions also differ and the bonds and leaves per year also are decided differently.

As per the Indian airline, there are no such differentiation in salary. Of course, when you fly for International airline they pay you according to the class you are trained in. For example, a crew working in economy class are paid differently compared to the crew who are working in business class and first class. These ranks come with your experience and your performance.

Hello, In India it's illegal to pay different salaries to males and females if performing same job. Hence in Indian context there is no variation in the salary package given to male or female cabin crew members. However in International carriers the case is different. In France females are paid less as compared with males for the same job even today. This is exactly the case in USA also. There are very many factors for this scenario and there are mitigating reasons also. Same scene gets implemented in Aviation sector also. The socioeconomic condition of females versus that of males is different in different countries. Thus also is cause of differential pay packages for males and females staff in an organization whether in India or abroad.In the end, it can be said that salary packages of females and males are same in India while it's different in case of European countries as well as in US.
