    Utkal University was established in 1943. The state university is recognised by AIU and UGC and is accredited with an “A+” grade by NAAC. It is ranked 93 among the top Universities in India by NIRF 2023. At present, Utkal University has 27 post-graduate teaching and research departments on campus. The university has 381 affiliated colleges for different streams, such as Humanities, Social Sciences, Science & Technology, Commerce & Management, Medicine, Homeopathy, Law, etc.
