    Hi,
I think MD has better scope as compared to DNB because of the following reasons:
    1) Low pass rate. The final exam is considered tough and the pass rate is generally at 15 to 20%.
    2) There might be less hands on training in specialities like surgery in some institutions
    3) There is less recognition among the general public about DNB degree and this may affect your clinical practise

    HI,
MD would be a better choice because these qualifications are recognised by the MCI. Also, most hospitals give a lot of preference to this when hiring. DNB is under the health ministry of India. It's considered equivalent to MD, but you get lesser credit for it.

I think the basic difference between the two is that, MD is awarded by medical council of India while DNB is awarded by national board of examinations
The scope for DNB is more because some private hospitals prefer DNB candidates to MD , as DNB students have had to put more hard work for their degree.

It all depends on the institute rather than anything else. DNB from some institutes is better than MD from some and vice versa. Yes DNB is more difficult to pass compared to MD but during the training period the work load is much more in MD than DNB. As far as job prospects are concerned MD and DNB are similar and you will be treated equally in most places.

Both have equal value in India but DNB exit exams are much more difficult to pass due to no guide and the exam is not held in the same hospital.
