I would say that NIFT is better than NID because IN NIFT, one can get better experience and learning about fashion, also the exposure is quite good. It has also collaboration with world's best fashion institutions.

According to me, National Institute of Fashion Technology is the best. I always see the purpose of establishing it. Always the best in approach, ever changing subject content, Fashion Shows, Varied Lab to practice, Guest faculty members from Industry, Internship, Projects are the best part of it.

NID & NIFT are completely different
so if you are applying for UG
NIFT- you get your specialisation in the round off apparel design (knitwear, fashion, leather, textile). There are other courses like fashion communication, accessories design and Bachelors in fashion technology (garment manufacturing). Duration- 4years
NID- Gives you courses which are not apparel but are completely different (say techno sorts) design courses (graphic, film, and video, furniture, product, transport, interaction, etc. ). There is also apparel, accessories, and textile here. Duration- 4and half years.

NIFT is a premium Fashion Design and Management institute, offering Diploma and Degree in B. Des, B.FTech M.Des M.FTech abd MFM degree courses. Their courses are different from NIFT is a premium Fashion Design and Management institute, offering Diploma and Degree in B. Des, B.FTech M.Des M.FTech abd MFM degree courses. Their courses are different from each other, except few like Textile design. NID courses are focused on particulars but NIFT courses covered broader study of any field. NID courses will lead you to a specific job, but NIFT can help you to choose multiple job options. NID has limited seats of 15 in most of their courses i

Both are very good institute. It's totally depend on your choice whether you want to make career in fashion designing or in designing like animation, arts, game design etc. For the former obviously u should go for NIFT if you fulfill all the criteria and for later go for NID, both are good.

NIFT will be the best option because the main factor that I have noticed is that it covers major university. Also, in NIFT, you have a better exposure, and good learning in an innovative way.

My friend is in NIFT and I must say these colleges are really good when it comes to designing. Although the tasks are unlimited, you have to do lots of submissions. Also, the fee is quite high.
Don't have much knowledge about NID.

NIFT offers B.Des mainly in fashion, Textile, Knitwear, etc. Designing courses, on the other hand, NID is about visual & graphic designing, it offers B.Des in Gaphic, Animation, Ceramic, Product designing, etc.
Both the institution are best in their own way. It depends on one's course & interest.

NID: National Institute of Design is the best Indian Institute for product designing, product concept development & design innovation. It is acclaimed even outside India. They teach you about design & art, aesthetic sense & extracts of design engineering as well. So, it is basically centred at the product development.
NIFT: National Institute of Fashion Technology is India's premier institute for fashion design. They teach you about fabrics, illustration, aesthetic sense, garment construction, styling, etc. It is more of apparels, where they teach you in and out of everything related to fashion.

NID offers various courses or disciplines in B.Des and M.Des, whereas, NIFT offers only fashion designing, but in fashion again, it has various disciplines in B.Des, B.F.Tech & M.Des.
Both come under the designing field.
