Please can you explain me about UPSC exam IAS what is air what is rank and I know about preliminary and Mains but what is the exam duration.

I am preparing for UPSC, so I can help you with this question much better. There are 3 stages you have to cross to become an IAS officer. First is prelims then Mains and lastly interview. In prelims, there are MCQ questions regarding current affairs, science and technology, general studies, etc. There are two papers in prelims both are of 200 marks. The first paper is just for qualification and the second paper is for ranking. You need to score minimum 120-130 marks out of 200 in prelims. In Mains, there are 4 general studies paper which includes history, science, economics, etc. Two optional papers that you may take physics, chemistry, maths, political science, etc. Two compulsory language paper in which one is English and other is your regional language that is only for qualification. There are 2 paper of essay writing. Total marks of Mains exam is 1750. Each exam will of 3 hours duration. Selected candidates will be called for interview that is of 275 marks. You need to score nearly 1000 + marks to become ias out of 2025 marks. Prelims paper is for 2 hours each.
