Fluorine oxidizes chloride ion to chlorine, bromide ion to bromine and iodide ion to iodine respectively.
F₂? + 2Cl⁻ → 2F⁻ + Cl₂?
F₂? + 2Br⁻ → 2F⁻ + Br₂?
