Let cos -1 (12) =y Then cos y = 12 = − cos
π3
 cos  (πx3)

= cos 3ππ3

= cos 2π3

  (E) We know that the range of principal value

branch of cos−1 is [0, π] and cos 2x3 = 12

Principal value of cos−1  (12) is 2x3
