With mechanical engineer as a degree, we'd gauge you would opt for operations as a specialisation. For operations, the highest package offered this year was 8 Lacs with an average of 5.78 Lacs. We had Amazon, Hexaware, McNroe, DHL, TCS, Green parks Hotels etc. Coming to campus for the same. Both are equally good. Many of my friends are studying in India and they have fees of 6lac around and got one laptop, 10 days Dubai/Singapore trip, where you don't have to give a single penny other than your own shopping as everything is been taken care by college end only and 2 time Mumbai national HR Conference visit also. Every year there has been a rank fluctuation in the counseling. An average percentile of 85-90 maybe the cut off this year around for School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi.

For general category candidates outside Delhi, the admission to the CSE programme at IIIT-Delhi requires a JEE Main percentile above 98.5. This means a score of 220+, depending on the competition in a particular year.
IIIT-Delhi has 50% of its seats reserved for Delhi candidates. So, the competition is more challenging for students from outside Delhi. A higher score will make a huge difference.
Focus more on the math and logical reasoning parts of JEE Main to have greater rank. Keep looking at the official website for cut-offs and guidelines from IIIT-Delhi.
