The eligibility criteria for Acharya Nagarjuna University Centre for Distance Education (ANUCDE) are as follows :

1.Undergraduate Programs (UG) - Bachelor's Degree : 

Candidates must have passed the 12th board examination with a minimum score of 45-50% from a recognised board of India. 

For MBA and MCA programs, candidates must have cleared bachelor's degree with 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in aggregate for SC/ST/PWD category) with Mathematics being a core subject in class 12 and bachelor's degree.

2.Postgraduate Programs (PG) - Master's Degree:

Basic eligibility criteria is to have a bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline from a recognised university. There is no age restriction for admission into any P.G. course, but those candidates who crossed 30 years of age for OC, 34 years for BC, SC and ST will not get any fee reimbursement

State Legislature founded the university as Nagarjuna University, and In 1991 act 4 which governs the six state universities, created the university's governance. On September 11, 1976, Sri Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed, the Indian president at the time, gave it his formal opening. The Governor of Andhra Pradesh issued the A.P. Universities Ordinance, 2004, which changed its name to Acharya Nagarjuna University. To meet the demands of the local population for higher education, Andhra University established a Post-Graduate Centre at Maddi in 1976 under the name Bala Tripura Sundaramma Polytechnic, Nallapadu, Guntur District in Andhra Pradesh.
