In Palghar, Maharashtra, there is a private educational establishment called VIVA Institute of Management and Research (VIMR).  It is associated with the University of Mumbai and was founded in 2004 under the auspices of the Vishnu Waman Thakur Charitable Trust.  Accredited by the Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra, and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the institute provides a Master of Management Studies (MMS).  Although VIMR is a private organization, the Maharashtra government recognizes it and it works with other government agencies.

As a part of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam's Samata College adheres to the academic calendar established by the university.  Exams for the semester are usually held in October–November for odd semesters (first, third, and fifth) and in April–May for even semesters (second, fourth, and sixth).  Usually, four to six weeks after the exams are finished, the results are released.

On May 20, 2025, at 4:00 PM, the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) formally released the Andhra Pradesh ICET 2025 results.  A key entrance exam for admission to MBA and MCA programs at several Andhra Pradesh colleges, including Samata College, is the Andhra Pradesh ICET.

Faculty at Samata College, Visakhapatnam usually has an overall good reputation for being knowledgeable and helpful. Students rate professors positively for clarity, etc. and because of direction about something practical: BBA/MBA/B.Sc. There were a few reviews that pointed problems, e.g., staff shortages in some departments and differences in quality of teaching.

The staff of Samata College is rated at mixed responses. They are well-educated, experienced teachers, helpful and supportive, more often having a postgraduate degree and a doctoral degree. They can be also characterized as sociable and committed to transmission of theoretical and practical knowledge. Nevertheless, there are minor complaints on the inconsistency in the quality of the teaching, possible bias, or several faculty members who are not knowledgeable of the subject. In general they are trying to be friendly and to teach students.

The faculty at Samata College have an overall rating of 3.3/5 on Shiksha, only 14% rated them 4-5 stars. The reviews show a variety of experience and backgrounds, with some being well-qualified and very supportive professors and others lacking experience and judging consent with how they implemented it and prepared teaching.
