Ballarpur Institute of Technology (BIT Maharashtra) has a moderate fame. Although being AICTE approved and having Gondwana University affiliation, the reviews of its students are mixed. Others point at the good infrastructure, conducive environment and the helpful staff. But there are others who voice out their concerns regarding the quality of the faculty, less number of places and average facilities. Placements are touted as average with average packages of INR 4 LPA and the maximum of INR 10-12 LPA with a few reviews stating lower amounts.

Ballarpur Institute of Technology (BIT), Chandrapur is popular for its one of a kind Mining Engineering program, almost only three institutes in Maharashtra and ranked third in this specialisation in the state. BIT is popular because of its experienced faculty, good placement rate (~75%), good companies visiting BIT like TCS, Infosys, and Lloyds Metals, average packages of around INR 4 LPA and the highest around INR 10 LPA.

In order to get admissions into B.E. / B.Tech at Shree Ram Mulkh Institute of Engineering and Technology (SRMIET), a valid JEE Main score is the main requirement. HSTES (Haryana State Technical Education Society) is the most common mode of admission and you will enrol here online, complete your choices and be a part of a seat allotment rounds basing on your rank in JEE Main. The second option available to you is to go directly to the college through the Management Quota by approaching the admission office of the college and meeting their merit-criteria.

In the case of Shree Ram Mulkh Institute of Engineering and Technology, only a valid score at the LEET entrance examination (conducted by HSTES) and a Diploma in engineering are accepted to get into B.Tech courses in the Lateral Entry (LEET) stream. Although the exact ranks that SRMIET accepts every branch may not always be clearly announced it is influenced by the mark scored in LEET exam, available number of seats and the number of candidates during counselling at HSTES. Technically, you can get direct admission to Shree Ram Mulkh Institute of Engineering & Technology (SRMIET, Ambala), however, this is backdoor to admission, not part of the usual counselling process:
Most of the seats are filled on the basis of the JEE Main exam or HSTES ranks by HSTES counselling. To be eligible for admission, applicants must have 10+2 (PCM) and a minimum of 45% aggregate marks (40% for reserved categories).
