See NSS carry very little weightage in the marks, but if you are applying through sports quota then you must have national certificate and also the trials will be there so the admission for this sports catagory is little bit different and have some different process than the normal one.

The eligibility criteria of CSIR UGC NET M.Sc. Or equivalent degree/ Integrated BS-MS/BS-4 years/ BE/ B.Tech/ B.Pharma/ MBBS with at least 55% marks for General (your) and OBC candidates and 50% for SC/ST, Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates. Candidates possessing only Bachelors degree are eligible to apply only for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and not for Lectureship (LS). Age criteria for JRF (NET): Maximum 28 years {upper age limit may be relaxable up to 5 years in case of SC/ST/Persons with Disability (PwD)/ female applicants and 03 years in case of OBC (Non Creamy Layer) applicants}.
