Please check the eligibility criteria
Eligibility criteria: Candidates with at least 55% marks overall in: 3-years Diploma in Marine/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Or 4-years Diploma in Shipbuilding Engineering from any Institute approved by AICTE or State Board of Technical Education.
And a minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th/12th/Diploma Examination. The candidate should have completed the diploma within its stipulated duration of 3 years

You are eligible, but you have to show proper reasons for the gap in you student career. If you do not have any proper reason or a gap of more than 2 years, then you are not eligible.

There is no such thing as best coaching institute. There are good ones but views vary from person to person. You should visit the institutes and check for yourself the advantages and perks they provide. I mostly do so.

You have to get at least a 60 percent marks in boards and also you can directly apply for admission or go through the qualifying exam. You need to do well in the exam.
