GIBS considers scores from CAT, XAT, MAT, CMAT, and other accepted examinations as part of a holistic approach to admissions. Entrance test scores account for roughly 20% in the overall assessment process and are primarily used during initial screening related to meeting minimum cutoffs. Once an applicant is shortlisted, further evaluation will consider academic records, GD/PI performance, the Statement of Purpose, extracurricular activities, and work experience. Thus, a good entrance score makes an application stronger, but significant importance is attached by GIBS to a candidate's comprehensive profile and performance during the selection rounds while determining final admission.

To apply for PGDM/MBA at GIBS, you start off by filling out the online application form on the official GIBS admissions portal and pay the application fee.
If you meet the basic eligibility criteria—a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks and a valid entrance exam score such as CAT / XAT / CMAT / MAT / GMAT / ATMA, then your application is shortlisted based on your exam result and academic record.
The shortlisted candidates are then asked to submit a Statement of Purpose (SOP) and to undergo a Group Discussion (GD) and/or a Personal Interview (PI).
GIBS, after verification of all components, including entrance score, past academics, SOP, GD/PI and work experience or extracurricular background, if any, sends admission offers to the selected candidates. Confirmation of admission by paying the programme fees and submitting the required documents is then needed.
