I think, you should go for Fashion designing if you are interested. One should always work in the area or field which they are interested in.
And fashion designing is all about apparels, from their sketches to their construction, embroidery to their pattern, production to sales, photoshoot to marketing, exhibition to fashion weak.
It doesn't matter that how much you know about fashion once you start the course. They will teach you different aspects of fashion and designing garment.
NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) is the best college to pursue for Fashion designing in India. It's a government college which offers Bachelor's programme as well as master's programme and the short Diploma course. You can choose any of the programme.
The eligibility criteria for these different programmes are-
1 - For B.Des, you should be under 23, with a score of 55% in your 12th class in any of the stream. (For SC, ST and differently able the age limit is relaxed by five years)
2 - For M.Des, you should have a minimum 3 year duration degree in design from a recognised college.
3 - For Diploma course you should be 12th passed.
