It was a great opportunity to get an internship at IIT and not everyone gets it easily so to increase your chances of getting an internship at an IIT, research, prepare a strong resume, contact professors, apply for internship programs, attend career fairs and networking events, and be persistent in your efforts.

Yes, its worthing because there are many top government colleges like DTU, HBTU, where you will get a good exposure and a great placement from electronics engineering. If you only focus on the placement, the average package of electronics engineering in HBTU is 7.5 LPA and the highest package is 44.5 LPA given by Amazon.

The admission process in NITs and IITs are done through JOSSA counselling and CSAB counselling. If one qualifies for JEE Advanced they get option to apply for IIITS also. In JOSSA and CSAB you have to give your choice priorities. And then according to your rank you are alotted college. JOSSA also provides two mock rounds in which you can change your priorities. After that counselling process starts in which your college get upgraded in 5 rounds. And in each rounds you will get option to freeze, float and slide. Float is always proves to be best option. If you still did'nt get you desired college you can apply for CSAB counselling.

There are many differences you can see in between normal engineering colleges and NITs and IITs. Here is one of them IITs have world-class faculty who are experts in their fields and conduct cutting-edge research. NITs also have excellent faculty, but their research focus may be less intense than that of IITs. Regional engineering colleges may have faculty members who are less experienced or may not have a research background.
