I have never heard of such thing in VIT. Maybe, it's something new that they have launched. But to be frank VIT B.Tech is far better than M.Tech.
That's the reason why, B.Tech the highest package was 22 LPA while the M.Tech guys were no where close. And when you opt for dual degree course you will be one among the M.Tech guys. First, you decide what kind of work you are planning to do and then choose what to study not vice versa. It's up to you what courses you can study. You already have an MBA so it will make admissions difficult. If you gain some work experience now it will be better for you to apply thereafter.
