To become a teacher in India, it is very important for candidates to have a Bachelors degree in education (B.Ed). One can also pursue a Masters degree in the same (M. Ed) to add to their qualification and to increase ones employability. Ed. Diploma in Education (D. Ed. ) is a 2 year certified teacher training course after 12th that will equip you with the knowledge required to teach at elementary schools (as nursery school teachers). IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam 2022 Eligibility Criteria must be satisfied for candidates to apply for the exam. Aspirants can check the eligibility criteria for IGNOU B.Ed entrance admission in detail below:
At least 50% percent marks either in the Bachelors Degree and or in the Masters Degree in Sciences or Social Sciences or Commerce/Humanity. Bachelors in Engineering or Technology with specialisation in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent
Trained in service teachers in elementary education. Or
Candidates who have completed an NCTE-recognised teacher education programme in direct mode. The relaxation of 5% in minimum qualifying marks required will be provided to SC/ST/OBC (non creamy layer) or PwD candidates as per the norms of the Government of India. Reservation for Kashmir Migrants and War Widow candidates will be provided as per the University Rules. A Masters Degree awarded without a first degree is not accepted for the purpose of Academic Studies in IGNOU. IGNOU B.Ed Entrance Exam is conducted by National Testing Agency, in two sessions for a candidates admission into the 2 year B.Ed programme at various PSCs (programme Study Center) of IGNOU across India.
