Clinical research is a specialized field that requires specific training to carry out various job functions. With the increasing number of clinical trials there is a projection of the requirement of trained manpower in big numbers. Although clinical research is becoming a lucrative career option for medical, pharmacy, dental and life-sciences students, an unmet need of basic clinical research training exists at the level of individual curriculum. Recent trends in clinical research industry are suggestive of employment preference to the personnel having a basic orientation and certification in clinical research.
