Bachelor of Science (BSc):
Traditional choice of stream for many Indian students, Bachelor of Science or B.Sc programs open up a number of career options for students. Whether you major in Agriculture & Forestry, Biology, Chemistry, Maths, or Physics, a B.Sc degree holder can always go for advanced studies, research work or careers in related areas.
Eligibility
Students can opt for a B.Sc degree program after Class 12 with related subjects. Most good universities and colleges in India come out with their own merit lists and your marks in Class 12 can really matter in getting you a seat in the B.Sc programs they offer.
For example, to get admission in a B.Sc program in Delhi University (DU), you need science subjects in Class 12 with at least 60% marks. To get into top colleges of DU, it is imperative to get at least 75% to 80% marks in class 12.
Career Prospects
Science graduates can opt for any career related to the field in which they have specialised. Research laboratories, government organisations, manufacturing industries, R&D departments of various businesses, wildlife conservation, banking and finance and a number of other sectors welcome Science graduates with open arms.
Besides, science graduates also do well in non-science careers such as marketing, technical writing, IT industry, BPOs and KPOs and other businesses.
A B.Sc degree holder can also opt for an M.Sc program and become an expert in his or her subject.
