Hi Lalit, the best time to start preparation is at the beginning of 11th class. Students are fresh after boards and a lot more can be learnt. Students who start late often end up leaving some key topics of 11th class JEE syllabus.
Also, if you start your preparation in 12th class then the amount of hard work is increased manifold due to additional pressure of 12th boards, so chances of getting a high rank in JEE are decreased.
Concepts in topics like algebra, mechanics and stoichiometry should be studied in great detail as they also form the basis for other topics and are very scoring.
Regular problem solving not only strengthens the concepts, but also increases your mental sharpness which is must for JEE.
You should have systematic plan for the preparation of JEE.
Regular hours should be allotted to mastering concepts and problem-solving.
Try to be analytical rather than being intutive.

In my opinion, choose an institute which has good success rate, check how old is the institute, batch size, course details, faculty, take feedback from current students and decide wisely.

Hi Saloni, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences in Faridkot conducts Punjab Medical Entrance Test (PMET) each year for the admission into the MBBS, BAMS, BHMS and BDS courses offered by various medical institutes in Punjab. The PMET exam is really a difficult exam.
Eligibility Criteria :
** The candidate who have completed their plus one and plus two exam from a recognized institution with 50 % marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology.
** The candidates who have 17years of age at the admission time are only eligible for getting admission.
** The candidates have to submit their eligibility certificates at the time of the counseling section.
** The candidates of Punjab are only eligible for the test.

Last date of receiving the application form: Lat Week of May, 2012

Hi Suveni, career planning is one of the most crucial factors in one's life which needs no emphasis.
If you wish to take up medicine, dentistry, agricultural science, dairy science or biological sciences (biochemistry, biotechnology), the combination should be biology, physics and chemistry (BiPC).
If you are not interested in pursuing medical further, you may go for engineering courses, such as civil, mechanical, electronics, metallurgy, computers, the option should be for a combination of mathematics, physics and chemistry (MPC).
It is true that the advantage of choosing science stream is that you can shift to the other two streams viz., humanities and commerce after plus two.
Apart form doing the degree level courses in science with the conventional combinations you can also choose degree courses in several emerging professional areas, such as, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, nursing, computer, business administration, hotel management, tourism management.
You can also opt for courses outside the university stream, such as hotel management, fashion technology, industrial design, packaging, aircraft maintenance engineering, government accredited computer courses and a host of post plus two level vocational courses.
However, if you any time realize that science is “ not your cup of tea” , then it would rather be desirable to explore the opportunities the other fields offer.
