It depends on the branch you want to join. For branches like CSE, mechanical, ECE, and civil, you need to get at least 1000 to 1500 rank if you are from the open category. There are other small branches like metallurgy, marine, civil and environmental. To get a seat in these small branches, you need not have a good rank like 1000 to 1500.
