Both B.Tech and B.Sc covers same topics but the key difference is that B.Tech students need to study each topic in depth compared to BSc students.
Duration also differs i.e. B. Tech is for four years and B.Sc is for three years.
As u already that 3years technical course is not considered outside india.
Engineers are also paid high compared to B.Sc graduates.
B.Tech in electronics covers right from the designing, manufacturing and use of electronic equipments and devices whereas B.Sc in electronics is concerned with the theoretical and application of instruments and their process.

I can totally understand your dilemma as I had gone through the same. But, to be honest, It would be right if you decide what you should do because you are the right person to make that decision. We as experts, can only guide and assist you with the same.
However, keeping in mind your interest towards Genetics and Biology, you may think of opting BSc Genetics. Genetics is an extremely advanced study in the field of science. It basically is the science of heredity and variation in living organisms. In Genetics one gets to study a lot of things which are very interesting like Microscopy, Mendelian Genetics and Biometry, Cytogenetics, Molecular Genetics, Genetic Engineering and Cloning, Human Genetics, Applied Genetics and Advanced Genetics. There is not just one part of Genetics, one can do B.Sc. in genetics regarding humans, plants reptiles and also there are many other fields.
In order to study B. Sc. in Genetics one has to pass his equivalent class 12 with subject combination of Chemistry, Physics and Biology. The duration of the course is 3 years.

Well to be honest, there is no major difference between the two in terms of scope and opportunities. The only difference is that BSc is more of theory based such as theoretical knowledge, like principles, equations, and procedures and so on, which are used to develop new equipments, machines and also new inventions in Science and Technology; whereas B.Tech is more about practical application, which is an integration of engineering principles with technology.
In simple words,Both BSc. and B.Tech are graduate academic degrees awarded to aspirants who effectively complete the concerned professional program. BSc is Bachelor of Science in Electronics whereas B Tech is Bachelor of Technology in Electronics.
The key difference between the two is its course material and its orientation.
BSc is a more theoretical knowledge oriented course whereas B. Tech is a practical knowledge-oriented program.
BSc is usually a three year program, whereas B.Tech is a 4 year.
