Mass communication has a very good scope in the film industry because films are not only about acting and direction… they are also about how you connect with the audience. The industry depends a lot on communication, publicity and the way a story is presented to people.

With a mass comm background, you can get into many areas like screen writing, PR for films, production work, film promotions, media handling, social media for actors, and even journalism related to movies. OTT platforms have increased the demand even more, as they need content writers, promo makers, script analysts and people who understand audience behaviour.

Dear Divya,
As you have not mentioned your educational qualification, I would suggest, if you are a graduate, then opt for a good mass communication college/university and then pursue your post graduation in Public Relations to become an expert in the field.
After the course , you may apply for some PR agencies or can work as a corporate communication manager for the firms.
For public sector, you me also apply in Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

Retirement is inevitable if you are not running your own industry. Airlines will not consider recruiting anyone under the age of 18 years. Some airlines retire staff at 50 - 55 years of age, but companies may fire and hire them depending on the norms. Originally in US, female flight attendants were fired if they reached age 32 or 35 depending on the airline, were fired if they exceeded weight regulations, and were required to be single upon hiring and fired if they got married. The first female flight attendant was a 25-year-old registered nurse named Ellen Church, you know?

Hi Payal,
Not all airlines require this as compulsion, however this at times can be a stated criteria in mostly international airlines & as they fly over international waters hence it could be required to know swimming in case of emergency.
If it is not set as a per-requisuite then it could be part of the training schedule where you will need to demonstrate that you can float and move around in the water (using a life jacket), as well as how to operate/board an inflatable raft. Pool events are done fully clothed (like you would be in an actual emergency). Even with that requirement, swimming isn't exactly a necessary skill (although it c
