Being a former student of PIBM, my experience says yes, you can definitely get admission at PIBM with 78 percentile in CAT. One thing keep in mind is that PIBM does not rely only on CAT percentile – they also accept scores from XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, and they even have their own aptitude process called PMAT.

The selection process at PIBM is more profile-oriented than just cutoff-driven. Let's say my example, as far as I remember, during my admission, the evaluation was done on multiple parameters, like these:
