Hi Shubham,
You can! But for Branch Sliding, you will have to perform exceptionally well in your first year. Remember, 1st year is common for all the branches and your competition is not just your Branch, but, the complete Batch of yours. So, it takes a lot out of you to make it possible. But, as I said, it is very much possible in NITs to change course after 1st year on the basis of Merit.

Hi Pratik, I have a different way of looking at the situation. I fully respect your views and decision but choosing a career or stream should not be decided on the basis of salary alone. According to me first you will have to evaluate yourself. You will have to analyze whether you have good technical skills or you will do better as a manager in banking and finance industry. As you are in NIT ( REC ) getting a job for you will not be a big deal for you. I will recommend you to remain in India after your BTech for at least 2 years. Then you should decide.
