There are certain companies who give slight weightage to your past academic scores to shortlist you for the interview, while some other companies don't give much weightage to your past academic scores and are rather focused on other things like projects done, your management skills, your knowledge and your area of interest.
Also, the effect of your academic scores on your placements will be the same in every B-school.
