Dear Sahil, Syllabus of MBA Finance The first semester initiates the student in the world of Management, with subjects like Management, Organisational Behaviour, Quantitative techniques and Communication which will equip the student to handle the more complex parts of the course in the subsequent semesters.
The Second semester takes the process a step further by including subjects like Marketing and HR along with the finance related disciplines, as it is believed that as a management professional a student should be initiated in all the areas of management, including Marketing and Human Resources, But we can clearly observe the other three papers in Quantitative finance, Computer Applications in Finance and research applications in finance as a clear focus towards finance, which is not the case with general MBA
The third and the fourth Semesters are very clear in its focus towards finance with the papers like Security Analysis and Portfolio Management, Strategic Financial Management and Papers on Risk Management and Mutual funds, along with the summer training which will be on the real time industry working environment which will the students the chance to apply the concept they are learning into real life environment.
The final project report along with the papers and the short term assignments, which are going to be a part of the course, needs the students to work on the real data
The highlight of our course is that it is heavily practically oriented because we believe most of the learning happens outside the classrooms also. The course recognise that the knowledge needs to be converted into skills and that is when the industry recognises it and proper care has been taken in the course, such that the students posses the skills and certifications along with the knowledge of basic concepts of finance.
