The college is decent. While the faculty is supportive and friendly and the college also has a good infrastructure but there's need for improvement in placement facilities and a few infrastructure facilities. The quality of education also need improvement as it doesn't really focus on the practical aspects .

The semester exam results declared at JP College Engineering is usually within a 20-30 days for odd semester, while even semester results are delcared in 30-40 days period. As the odd semester for academic year 2024-2025 was declared on 19th April 2025. Its same as the tentative date floated by the Institute for result declaration.

The TNEA rank list will be declared on 27 June 2025 followed by grievance redressal period and then counselling which is conducted online in three rounds . Candidates who secured a place on the merit list are eligible to participate. The councelling process in divided into 3 phases Govt reservation category, general special reservation category and lastly the general counselling.

To get into JP College of Engineering, You need to meet the minimum eligibility criteria and decent score in the entrance exam or 12th exams ( at least 45% aggregate). The admission will be based on cutoffs provided by the college. The competition is moderate but it can be higher for popular courses. The entrance exam for admission is TNEA followed by a counselling process which is done mostly online .
