As per the exam guidelines, you can appear for the UGC NET exam in the subject in which you have done the post-graduation or related to that. As you said you have completed Masters' in Child Psychology, so you can apply for the exam with Psychology subject. Before appearing for the UGC NET exam must check out that you eligible or not for the exam.
