All functions are good. HR is a very critical function, and to succeed in HR, you need to have innate skills. It is impossible to become a good HR professional. Over my career spanning over 20 years, I have sen numerous cases of aspirants, opting for HR blindly, and realizing that they are not cut out, for this function. HR is ll about people. People do not work for organizations. People work for people. I suggest you talk to a reputed career counselor, and get to understand your skill sets. This is will give a clear picture of your profile, and the functions, where you can make your career. If you make a wrong choice here, it is virtu

There are ample number of institutions in both the locations that you have mentioned. But you have to remember one thing in particular. Unless and until you are getting a certification from a University. It would always be a PGDM/PGDBA/PGPM course. Only universities in India have the power to give certification of an MBA. and that too most of them give you the certificate as a Distance learning/Private registered student. So be it which ever institution that you choose, choose wisely. Or else you can even look for institutions which give you international certifications. There are now institutions in PUNE which provide you UK MBA progra

HR is a function, which requires innate skills. You cannot become a successful HR professional. I am making this statement, drawing from my experience, of over 20 years. I do appreciate that, there are two schools of thought, but I have seen umpteen cases of aspirants, blindly opting for HR, and then coming face to face with the harsh reality, that they took a wrong decision. I suggest, you talk to a reputed career counselor, who will be able to guide you properly You will get to know the functions where you will fit in , and you can then plan your career.

Hi Anukrit, a MSC in the subject is difficult to find. While looking for your course I came across MBA in Finance Management - Investment Banking and Wealth Management offered by SP Jain Centre of Management. This course requires 2-3 yrs work experience and a GMAT or CAT or SPJAT. Or else MDIS offers a MS in Banking and Finance if it interests you. If going to UK interests you then University of Glasgow (a well known univ and always in top 15) offers a MSC in Investment Banking and Finance. The cost of studies in Singapore will come to about 10 lacs per annum including living expenses and in the UK i will cost you 12-14 lacs including

The best thing would be to join a short-term course in a reputed ocaching centre incase your plan is to appear in the 2012 exam. Study your optional subject extensively leaving nothing to choice,. Practice with mock tests to help you know your spped and correctness of answers. Give time to read newspapers like The Hindu, and magazines such as CSR, Pratiyogita Darpan and discuss with the fellow students.

If you are atleast a graduate and in the age bracket of 21 to 30 years and geared up to give the exam for becomming IPS this year itself then before anything else I suggest you to apply for it as the last date is 21st March 2011. You need to select your optional subject carefully. The prelims exam is on 12th June 2011. You have a herculean task ahead and therefore contact a friend who has been to coaching classes and get some study material from the person. Drown yourself in extensive studies and practice the multiple choice type question tests.
