Closing rank varies for different NIT colleges, You may get top NITs but you have to compromise with branch (like Chemical, Biotech. , Mining, Metallurgy, etc.). If your rank is not so good but if you are looking for normal NITs then it will be best for you, even you can get CSE in some NITs. Your branch selection depends on you but if you tell me your HS name then it will be more profitable to you. Also, I'll be able to inform you more.

I would suggest you to contact the college through the contact details available online. Talk to them and get a clear information on the entire admission process. It would be great if you visit the campus in person so that you can see the college and reviews from the students there.
