You should try Marketing Communication(MarComm) courses.In MarComm you will be taught all the aspects of marketing so that you can decide your field of interest (advertising, PR, Media Planning,etc).also u should go to places where practical exposure is given more importance than theoretical knowledge.
PG Diploma or MBA really does not matter. you should only see how good placements the college provides and well as the brand name of the college in the corporate world.So as you are interested in advertising you should try and find about colleges in companies like JWT, McCann, Lowe Lintas, Publicis , etc.
