PMP certification is given by PMI, US Based body which certifies that you have good experience in Projects and you are eligible to handle multiple projects as a Project Manager with an organization.
If you deal into projects then PMP will benefit you a lot as it's necessary to have min 3yrs experience in Projects as a qualification criteria.
PMP is one certification which is globally acceptable as compared to other Project Management Certification and many MNC's have a minimum qualification criteria for a Project Manager level.
This will also help you to get International Job options or Projects.
PMP is beneficial to professionals from IT, ITES, Telecom, Construction, Power etc Background.
There is a process to appear for PMP Exam through PMI.
First you need to take a training for PMP practice which is given by various educational institutes who's certificate is acceptable by PMI. Once you complete the PMP Training you will get a 35 Hours PDU Certificate which means that you have taken 35 Hours training to understand the concept of Project Management.
Then you need to apply for the exam on the official website of PMI by filling the application form along with which you need to submit your updated profile with project experience and the PDU Certificate you have received.
Once your profile is accepted by PMI then you have to pay their examination fees online and then within 30-45 days you will be allotted a prometric center in your city to give their online exam.
