The Indian Coast Guard recently released a recruitment announcement for the Group A Gazetted Officer position of Assistant Commandant. In accordance with the number of openings for the position, candidates are chosen for the position of Assistant Commandant (Law) based on their performance in the PSB and FSB. Candidates applying for the law branch are exempted from the screening test portion of Stage I of the Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Selection Procedure (CGCAT), according to the Indian Coast Guard's official website. The stages of CGCAT (law entry) are as follows:
Preliminary Selection Board (Stage II) -
Candidates will be evaluated using the Picture Perception and Discussion Test (PPDT) and the Computerized Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT). The board of assessors (IO, GTO, and TO) recommends the candidates to the final selection board based on the combined grades of the CCBT and PPDT (FSB). Stage-III ( Final Selection Board) -
It is the same as the Selection Board (SSB) of other services. Medical Examination (Stage IV) -
Only those candidates who are declared fit by the SMB will be considered for final merit list.

The Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) is a degree programme of four-year duration offering Design Foundation in Year 1 and Specializations in Product Design and Innovation, Designed Environments, Information and Graphic Design and User Experience Design in Years 2, 3 and 4.
B.Des programme will enable students to identify significant contemporary problems, inculcate critical thinking, critique conventional solutions, and challenge the status-quo to arrive at creative solutions through collaborative team efforts. students would acquire & hone skills and learn design theories, methods and processes that would help develop and refine their ideas which would address the problem identified in a holistic manner.
