NIFT Entrance Exam is split into 2 phases:
Phase 1: Written Exam (February) consisting of 2 papers of 100 marks each
GAT (General Ability Test): 150 Objective questions 2 hours
CAT (Creative Ability Test): 3-4 Questions 3 hours
The GAT tests each students ability in Quantitative Math, Analytical Reasoning, English Communication, English Comprehension and General Knowledge
The CAT tests each students ability in Design Problem Solving, Visual Sense, Observation & Perception, Environmental Awareness, Mental Ability and Communication skills through a range of visual and textual questions. Phase 2: It consists of 2 hour Situation Test in which students are given certain materials and asked to create a 3D model or handicraft. Some differ in Masters design the above I mentioned is for UG that is for Bachelors Masters vary.
