Symbiosis Institute of Technology (SIT) does offer direct second year admissions for engineering. You need to have completed a diploma course from any recognised polytechnic college with percentage marks as per AICTE norms for securing admission.

If I am not wrong, you are talking about PCACS-Navi Mumbai. Your class 12th percentage is too low. But, I'm not sure that you can get admission there or not. So, follow the instructions for admission requirements provided by PCACS in its official website 2018 through this link:-

Admission for B.E. Mechanical Engineering course is based on merit-list or entrance-based followed by the personal interview. Both the courses are different and have different pros and cons. The Polytechnic courses started to provide employment at the age of 18. Initially, students who wanted to start earning early to support the family used to opt for these courses. But this trend has changed over the years. Regards.
